Pattern as Expression 2D – 3D

This week territories of practice was all about transforming a piece of A4 paper and to explore the concept and product of form surface to volume.

The previous week had been set a task to create 5 A4 screen that would stand just out of a sheet of paper with no glue only cut and fold, and with this as a class we would discuss our successes and failures within this task. I personally found mixed responses when doing the task and this was generally due to how many folds or cuts made within the paper. They’re where many great sources of inspiration online to help that we discussed within class.

A small selection of my work and others within class

After sharing with the class what we had made we split into groups of 3 and were given 3 different paper patterns to fold and from here we had to create a 3d form around a simple wine glass.2D -3D.
